WES 31st Year of JUMP ROPE FOR HEART Kick-Off Rally
WES celebrates 31 years of jumping on February 12, 2020. JUMP ROPE FOR HEART encourages kids to get active by skipping rope while they collect pledges for heart disease and stroke research. The kids also learn the importance of living a healthy lifestyle and giving back to their community. On Wednesday, January 29, 2020 Ashlea and Carry came to our school from the Heart and Stroke Foundation to kick-off our Jump Rope for Heart campaign. They explained the importance of eating healthy and staying active (EASY). Students also learned the signs of a stroke (FAST). We had some volunteers from our Grade 6 class to help with demonstrations of some new jumping techniques. Thank you to Ashlyn, Cacee, Hudson and Cohen for you help. The students also challenged the teachers to a Jump Off. Thank you to Mr. Mitchell, Mrs. Chaulk, Mrs. Hinton and Mrs. Doyle for being great sports. We may have to have another match because the students won again this year. Great job everyone!
