New Student Registration

Thank you for your interest in Wainwright Elementary School.  Below is our basic registration information, and is the most requested by our families.

To complete registration for your child:

Please fill out both the Student Registration Form and Student Responsible Use Technology Form, for each child you are registering.  Parents can either print the forms to fill them in, or fill them out online.  To fill them out online you have to save the form first, and then proceed filling out your saved version.  If you don't save it first it will erase everything you've entered.

We also require a copy of each child’s birth certificate.  If you don’t have one, you can still register.  We will have you fill out an Official Verification of Student Identity form for your child that will be placed in their file until a birth certificate is provided.  Email completed forms to paula.wells@btps.ca.

Supplies

Current year supply lists can be found here.  We will also email a copy to families who have registered with us.  Supply lists are updated in June for the upcoming school year.

Inclusive Learning

For students with special needs or who may require additional support from an Educational Assistant due to physical disabilities, we encourage you to reach out to our Inclusive Learning Teacher (and Assistant Principal), Mrs. Martens at christine.martens@btps.ca.  When registering, we kindly ask that you share copies of any assessments, behavior plans, or individual student programs that may currently be in place for your child.  These will help us get things in place prior to your child starting in our school and will allow us to give your child the best possible class placement to encourage a smooth transition to their new school.

Transportation

Busing is available for rural and in-town students.  If you are interested in having your child ride the bus, you can register online at:

 https://www.btps.ca/departments/transportation/registration

Please note, there is a cost for in town busing if you live within 1 km of the school for students in Grades Kindergarten to 6, and within 2 km of their designated school for Grades 7 to 12.  Spots fill up on a first come, first serve basis.  Rural busing and busing to and from Denwood, AB, is free.

For more information, please check out the BTPS Transportation Information Pamphlet online at BTPS Transportation General Information, or contact our Transportation Department directly with any questions you might have.  Phone (780) 806-2052 or email transportation@btps.ca
