BTPS/WES HONOURS NATIONAL DAY OF TRUTH AND RECONCILIATION

BTPS/WES HONOURS NATIONAL DAY OF TRUTH AND RECONCILIATION

September 30 is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. On this important day, Buffalo Trail Public Schools acknowledges the painful history of residential schools and the lasting impacts they have had on Indigenous communities across Canada. It is a day to remember, reflect, and recommit ourselves to the journey of truth, healing, and reconciliation.

On Thursday, September 28th WES and BTPS students division-wide had online Learning Day with special Indigenous speakers followed by an opportunity to craft a Wahkotowin Wheel. We wore our orange shirts on this day to raise awareness of the impacts of residential schools. BTPS/WES is committed to honouring and respecting Truth and Reconciliation.
