Gr 2 Virtual Field Trip 2024

Gr 2 Virtual Field Trip 2024

On Thursday, the Grade 2s did a virtual field trip to Iqaluit, Nunavut; Meteghan, Nova Scotia; and Saskatoon, Saskatchewan - the three communities we learned about in Social Studies this year.

The Grade 2s started the day off by boarding Flight 613 on WahlPropp Airlines where they enjoyed flying through the skies with an in-flight snack to their first destination.

Upon arriving in Iqaluit, they learned “O Siem” written by Inuit singer Susan Aglukark, tried “maktaaq” and learned how to carve an inukshuk out of soapstone.

In Meteghan, the Grade 2s built their own lobster traps and sampled oatcakes.

The last leg of the trip was to Saskatoon where they made pysankas of their own designs and had perogies.

It was a wonderful day of traveling and getting to experience our learning in a hands-on way, together as a group. Thank you to WEPA for raising the funds to support our day.
