Part 2 - Grade 2 Virtual Field Trip 2024

Part II of the Grade 2 field trip took us on a history walk of Wainwright. We have such an interesting past with the Bison Paddock, POW camp, unfortunate fires, and the construction of the town clock. Lessons from these events showed the students Wainwright citizens understood global citizenship and worked together to rebuild and commemorate important events that have impacted us all. 

We completed our walking field trip at the Lodge. Have you ever entered a room where people clapped for you just because you arrived? That is what happened to our grade 2 students. We read a story to the residents, listened to them answer questions we had about their life as children and parted by singing together “You Are My Sunshine”. Our minds and hearts were full as we returned to school. Thank you Battle River Lodge for investing in young lives and providing for them an unforgettable experience.
