Gr 4-6 Track Day 2024
Gr 4-6 Track Day 2024
GRADES 4-6 Track Meet Invades WHS!
The Grades 4-6 track meet took place on Monday, June 17th with a 5 C cool breeze in the morning and cloudy skies but it turned decent in the afternoon with more sun and plenty of competition and fun had by all. WHS was gracious to allow us to invade their school and use their paved track and football field for our events. Students participated in a competitive meet in six events (plus the Open Mile if anyone wanted to tackle the challenge) which made for a full day. The six events included three running (85 m dash, 200 m race, 50 m Hurdles) two jumping (long jump and high jump) and one throwing event (distance throw). The Open Mile followed all the events and took place just before 2:00 pm.
Major thank you goes out to the following:
- WHS Grade 10 leadership students. We had 22 students sign up and assist us in the six events plus the Open Mile and we are so thankful for those students who give back and model citizenship for their WES Star students. I was very proud of all the work our former students put in on the day.
Students were: Elijah Valleau, Shelby Sardoff, Hayden Steinborn, Loise Tamayo, Kendal Rutherford, Cheyenne Rutledge, Autumn Coutre, Brooklynne Traverse-Weese, River McAfee, Deandra Evans, Diego Mercier, Darby McMillan, Julia Bamber and Lauryn Batten.
